The annual Elyria Apple Festival will bring fall fun to Ohio once more, from Sept. 19-21. This festival has been around since 1980, and Elyria families have been attending since the very beginning. If you were looking for an exciting way to ring in the colorful season, I would encourage you to pick the apple festival!
Why? Well, there is plenty of fun, apple-related activities that anyone can take part in including: apple bobbing, an apple pie baking contest, an apple pie eating contest, and a cornhole tournament.
If you’re not so interested in apples, there is still plenty to participate in. Concessions and crafts will surround the square, offering a unique eating and shopping experience for visitors and community members alike.
Since its beginning, the Elyria Apple Festival has drawn in more that 100,000 people annually. All proceeds acquired during the weekend-long festival are saved for future events or put towards the improvement of the downtown square at Ely Park.
The festival is great for kids and adults alike, and if you have family visiting for fall season it is the perfect excuse to show off our wonderful community. With so many apple growers in the area, our festival never wants for more crispy apples and refreshing cider, so there will be plenty for everyone you choose to bring.
