What should I know if I’ve been injured in a car accident with an uninsured motorist in Ohio?

If you are going to file a lawsuit after a car accident in Ohio, you have two years from the date of the accident to have the lawsuits filed in Court.

In our state, we have what are called “uninsured motorists.” If the person that hits you doesn’t have insurance, you then make a claim on your own insurance company, based upon the terms contained in your insurance policy.

It is difficult to know how to handle these situations. They are best handled by an experienced car accident injury lawyer.

However, one thing I do like to point out to each one of my clients is the “Declaration” page of insurance policies. You may not know it, but almost every insurance policy has this page that lays out exactly what you are entitled to if the other side doesn’t have insurance.
